The Institute is well known on account of the preservation and conservation of manuscripts, printed reference books, old magazines and the important record of Munshi Khana Huzuri and that of Shara Sharif. The manuscripts and reference books are provided to the scholars and learned persons and xeroxed copies thereof, on subsidized rates, as per rules also procured to them. The scholars, far and abroad may also get help and assistance from here on correspondence basis.
The facilities, except of holidays, are provided from 9.30 a.m. to 6.00 p.m.
The Institute within its' premises provides a "Scholars Guest House" to the scholars and learned persons from home and abroad on subsidized rates for their residential accommodation.
A scheme of getting built a separate reading room for keeping Arabic, Persian, English, Hindi and Urdu news papers, magazines and competitive journals etc. is also under consideration in order to provide such academic material to the research scholars and learned persons.
Several distinguished and well established national and international scholars have been utilizing the source material preserved in this Institute of international repute for their research purposes since its very inception.
Moreover, a good number of registered Ph.D. Scholars of various Universities, including Rajasthan University, Jaipur, M.D.S. University, Ajmer, M.L. Sukhadia University, Udaipur, Jamia Millia Islamia University, Delhi, Barkatullah University, Bhopal (M.P), Delhi University, Delhi, Muslim University, Aligarh (U.P), J.N. University, Delhi, Central University, Hyderabad (A.P) and Ahilya Bai University, Indore (M.P) etc. is benefitted by utilizing the source material of this Institute.
More than 52scholars have already been awarded the degree of Ph.D. by the aforesaid Universities and about 13 Scholars are doing their works presently.
